Marko Vukolic

Marko Vukolić is the CEO and co-founder of Bitcoin Scaling Labs, leading initiatives to enhance Bitcoin's scalability and efficiency.

With a robust background in decentralized systems, he served as the Lead at ConsensusLab / IPC from June 2021 to June 2024, focusing on scalable consensus protocols for decentralized networks.

Prior to that, he was a Principal Research Staff Member at IBM Research - Zurich from January 2015 to June 2021, contributing to advancements in blockchain technologies and co-architecting Hyperledger Fabric.

His academic roles include Visiting Professor at ETH Zurich in 2014 and Tenured Assistant Professor at EURECOM in France from 2010 to 2014.

Marko holds a Dr. Sci. degree in Distributed Systems from EPFL and a Dipl. Ing. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Belgrade.

Currently, he is dedicated to developing innovative solutions for Bitcoin scalability.
