Diana Stern

Diana J. Stern is Senior Director, Legal Counsel - Crypto (Head of Legal for Crypto) at PayPal. 

She was previously Deputy General Counsel at Protocol Labs, renowned for her expertise in crypto, fintech, and emerging technologies. 

She is the chief architect of the PL Alignment Asset and leads PLVS legal. Diana holds extensive professional experience, including roles at DLx Law, Bessemer Venture Partners, and as a former General Counsel at Palm NFT Studio, where she also served as Interim CEO before it was acquired.

Her past contributions include being a founding member of Stripe’s global crypto team and serving as a Legal Innovation Designer at Baker & Hostetler LLP. Diana's strategic legal solutions have transformed challenges into opportunities, driving substantial financial growth for her clients.

Currently focused on leveraging her legal acumen to advance emerging technologies, Diana is also a co-organizer of Bay Area Legal Hackers and serves on the Editorial Board of the MIT Computational Law Report.
