Shruti Appiah is the Chief Protocol Economist at Huddle01, specializing in cryptoeconomics, product management, research, and strategy.

At Huddle01, Shruti spearheads the systems design of Layer01, an execution proofing protocol, and the dRTC network, a decentralized real-time communications network.

Previously, Shruti served as Head of Product at Input Output (IOHK), where Shruti defined the vision and product strategy for programmability on Cardano, leading teams for dApp platform, core infrastructure, and smart contract security.

Shruti's extensive experience includes roles as Senior Research Scientist at BlockScience, focusing on designing economies through complex dynamical systems, and as a Research Scientist & Advisor for organizations like Cosmos and FLOW blockchain, advising on robust crypto-economic systems.

As an early member of ConsenSys, Shruti was a Product & Strategy Lead and Research Lead, a founding member of ConsenSys Labs, and instrumental in bringing mathematical rigor to cryptoeconomic systems.

Shruti also founded Prava, a peer-to-peer renewable energy marketplace, and led decentralized identity product strategy at Okta, Inc. Shruti was recognized as one of Canada's 30 under 30 (Developer) for contributions to blockchain-based economics and machine learning.
