James Farrell is a product and program leader at Funding the Commons, where he designs and runs global initiatives supporting builders working on public goods, real-world impact, and privacy-preserving technologies. He leads product and ecosystem strategy across hackathons, residencies, and platforms that help early-stage teams collaborate, ship, and measure impact.
Going forward, James is responsible for the Commons Lab program, Funding the Commons’ incubator, where he supports founders through the full incubation process—from early idea formation to product development, technical architecture, and organizational sustainability. His work focuses on creating high-trust, high-leverage environments that combine structured support, mentorship, and partnerships to help teams turn ambitious ideas into deployable, real-world systems.
With a background spanning engineering, product leadership, and ecosystem building, James operates at the intersection of technology, coordination, and impact—building the programs and infrastructure that allow mission-driven teams to move fast without losing rigor.
