Juergen Eckhardt serves as EVP and Head of Leaps by Bayer, the strategic impact investment arm, and also as Head of Business Development & Licensing (BD&L) for Bayer's Pharmaceuticals Division.

Juergen is a medical doctor and a venture investor with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, biotech, and agriculture, having served on more than 25 company boards.

Prior to joining Bayer in 2016 to help establish Leaps by Bayer, Juergen began his career as a physician and was a management consultant and Associate Partner at McKinsey & Co. Juergen holds an MD from the University of Basel, Switzerland, and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Juergen is currently focused on investing in breakthrough technologies and disruptive business models to address humanity's biggest challenges in health and agriculture.
