May 20, 2026 — WeatherXM announced a major strategic transition, stating the project is "entering a new phase." Key elements include: redesigning WXM tokenomics and the reward mechanism; refactoring core infrastructure for AI-powered weather products; shifting to a DEX-first model with WXM no longer listed on centralized exchange Gate.com (confirmed by Gate's delisting announcement); and developing new open-firmware hardware with mesh/Meshtastic-compatible capabilities. The team also launched a discount campaign on current-generation stations ahead of the next hardware generation.
